MidAmerica National Bank Groundbreaking for New Main Office

MidAmerica National Bank groundbreaking 9-26-19MidAmerica National Bank held it’s groundbreaking ceremony on September 26, 2019 for their new 32,000-sf building. Redmond is honored to be their Design-Build Partner.

MidAmerica National Bank was looking for more operational space at their main office as well as updating their retail space with new technology and branding opportunities. Keeping our clients competitive in this ever-changing environment is a focal point that sets Redmond apart. Redmond’s financial design team, industry leaders in rethinking the standard concepts of brick-and-mortar, designed a new state of the art facility on their existing lot that allows for continued operation at their existing facility throughout construction, and guided MidAmerica National Bank forward through the new trends and technology advancements in retail banking.

A welcoming two-story lobby with an open stair to the second floor is the key architectural detail that first draws in and greets customers and employees. The clerestory above the lobby allows natural lighting to flood the interior and provides a warm, inviting retail space. The clerestory also maximizes natural lighting into the interior workspaces that don’t have direct access to perimeter windows. The exterior of the building is a modern twist on a traditional building.  The use of traditional brick with a traditional looking cornice is blended with the more modern metal panels and tall curtainwall windows. The use of solar shades reduce glare at interior spaces while adding interest to the exterior facade. The latest technology in the branch was incorporated to enhance the retail experience and allow tellers to become Universal Employees. As the bank moves away from the traditional model with teller stations and customer service representative desks, the new open-floor concept promotes greater interaction through the new Universal Employees who handle a greater variety of customer requests.

Site work began August 2019 and construction of the new building broke ground on September 26 2019. The new 32,000-sf building, which is adjacent to the existing facility, is scheduled to be completed Spring 2021. The existing building will be demolished after completion of the new main office.

Financial Plus Credit Union Breaks Ground for New Branch

Financial Plus Credit Union groundbreaking

Congratulations to Financial Plus Credit Union on the groundbreaking of their new facility!

Financial Plus Credit Union selected The Redmond Company to design and build a new, state of the art, retail inspired 7,200-square foot branch.  Financial Plus Credit Union was interested in enhancing the member experience in Morris, Illinois.

The building will become the new prototype design for Financial Plus Credit Union and will be used in other markets as they continue to grow.  The double height eyebrow feature allows interior branding to be visible from the exterior of the building.  This architectural feature will allow for a unique, interactive interior, drawing members into the branch.

As the industry moves forward with technology, Financial Plus Credit Union will also be incorporating technology into the new branch to improve Member Service and operational efficiency.

Needing the existing branch to be fully operational throughout construction, the placement of the new building was key. Redmond was able to achieve this by strategically placing the building in a highly visible location on the site, while not disturbing the existing facility.  The Redmond Company takes pride in creating unique solutions to any of the client’s objectives throughout the project process. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Summer 2020.

UFCU St. Joseph Ground Breaking Ceremony

UFCU St. Joseph Ground Breaking The Redmond Company is pleased to announce the recent ground breaking of a 9,800-square foot corporate banking center for United Federal Credit Union. The project is located at the existing main office site in St. Joseph, Michigan. Utilizing the existing St. Joseph main office site, The Redmond Company designed a 2-story Corporate Banking Center for the United Federal Credit Union. The building will replace the existing branch with an expanded facility capable of meeting current member needs and desires. The soaring 2-story lobby incorporates glass walled offices and glass railings which flood the interior spaces with natural light and promote optimal visibility to the lobby from both the first and second floors. Amenities such as a coffee area, Wi-fi cafe and causal seating help to make the waiting area inviting. Warm branded interior colors, rich wood tones and natural stone accent walls blend to fashion an inviting, confident space. Directional signage, changeable lifestyle graphics and two 60” multi-media screens help keep the space intuitive, dynamic and flexible. The exterior design goal was to ensure the new banking center building was sensitive to the exterior vernacular of the existing main office and the surrounding residential neighborhood; however, the overall exterior design needed to allow the building to stand on its own. The new building utilizes an abundance of glass, surrounded by brick and masonry walls capped with a gently sloped hip roof. These elements, in proper scale, meld to make an inviting, thoughtful and visually salient composition. Additionally, the building is set back on the site and surrounded by an abundance of landscaping further softening the overall visual presentation to South State Street. This is Redmond’s fourth project with United Federal Credit Union. United Federal Credit Union has served members since 1949 and has more than 120,000 members worldwide. It manages assets in excess of $1.57 billion. In addition to its nine branches in southwest Michigan, UFCU serves members through locations in Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Ohio. UFCU Niles Operation Center Groundbreaking Ceremony The Redmond Company is pleased to announce the recent ground breaking of a 20,000-square foot operations center for United Federal Credit Union. The project is located at 2100 S. 11st Street in Niles, Michigan. Utilizing the existing Niles site, The Redmond Company designed a 2-story corporate office building that will serve as a regional operations center for the growing and expanding credit union. The soaring 2-story lobby incorporates full height glass which flood the interior spaces with natural light. Amenities such as, a coffee area and causal seating help to make it the “hub” of the building’s activity. Additionally, several smaller flexible open gathering zones spotted throughout the building promote impromptu meetings and collaboration. The interior work spaces are open and flexible, employing only a minimum of perimeter offices and maintaining core functions towards the center of the building. These design concepts work collectively to ensure almost all the building’s residents have a clear sun-drenched view to the exterior. This is Redmond’s third project with United Federal Credit Union. Learn more about the completed project.
