Traveling Project Engineer
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Our Project Engineers are stationed at their home base and will travel throughout Central United States and work at our job sites
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in administration of the project from inception through closeout
- Assist in procuring subcontractor bids and site walkthroughs
- Assist in subcontractor buy-out, qualification, selection, and contract creation
- Maintain and follow-up of all project related correspondence
- Prepare, monitor, and update project schedule in collaboration with Project Manager and Superintendent
- Review shop drawings, samples, catalog data in accordance with plans and specifications, scope, installation procedure, site consideration, and coordination between trades
- Prepare, review, expedite, and monitor logs for tracking submittals, RFls, contract documents, change orders, and subcontractor applications for payment
- Assist in the weekly job meetings and generation and distribution of all meeting minutes
- Assist in the project closeout process, including the punch list, collection of closeout documentation, and submitting the close out package to the Owner
Required Skills and Qualifications
- All experience levels in commercial building construction performing duties similar to this position's requirements
- College degree in engineering and construction management
- Assigned to either our principle office or to the Project Site depending on project requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Willingness to work as a team member in a high pace environment
