Financial Plus Credit Union Project Wins Design Excellence Award in 25,000-49,999sf Category

Financial Plus Credit Union Award WinnerThe Redmond Company is honored to have been recognized with a Design Excellence Award by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) for our work on Financial Plus Credit Union’s main office in Ottawa, IL. The project won bronze in the Office/Corporate – 25,000sf – 49,999sf category.

ASID is one of the largest and the most prominent professional interior design organizations. This highly active group is dedicated to promoting high quality design and communicating the impact of design on the human experience.

For this project, Financial Plus Credit Union had outgrown their current facility and was looking to build a new main office that would better support their future growth goals and enhance the services and the experience that they provided to their members.  FPCU needed a partner who understood the rapidly evolving financial services industry and could provide informed solutions to financial challenges, as well as a main office facility design that increases efficiency and flexibility while promoting employee well-being and inspiration.   One of the most important design goals of this project was the client’s desire for access to natural light.  A double barrel-vaulted roof design was incorporated into this project, inspired by FPCU’s branding, allowing ample natural light to enter the double height lobby space, as well as bringing daylighting into the 2nd floor board room with curved wood ceiling feature.  The expansive lobby space serves as the perfect gathering space for the numerous community events FPCU hosts and sponsors.  FPCU’s goal for their building was to be a beacon in their community.  The new building design resonates that FPCU is invested in Ottawa, IL and is there to stay.
