Helping Hands Decorated Trees – Showing Compassion With Creativity

When designers become tree decorators, magic happens.

The Redmond Company design team participated in J & J Flooring’s Helping Hands event, supporting Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin by designing and decorating two themed trees for hospitalized children and their families.

The design team collaborated creatively, crafting trees that would delight and inspire young patients. One tree celebrated the world of Lego, adorned with Pokemon toys and building block ornaments. The second tree embraced a “Swiftie” theme, featuring a pink color scheme with sparkly ornaments and accompanied by a vintage pink suitcase record player and albums.

The team’s goal extended beyond aesthetic appeal. They aimed to create interactive displays that could provide moments of joy, distraction, and memory-making moments for children and families during a challenging time.

The Helping Hands program, launched in 2016, has grown from supporting one hospital to more than 10 hospitals and organizations nationwide, while continually expanding year after year. The decorated trees are on display at participating hospitals to lift the spirits of children, families, and staff. Children have the option to select their favorite tree to take to their hospital room to fully enjoy.

By transforming ordinary trees into extraordinary experiences, designers can unite and show how creativity can bring hope and excitement in a new way.
