Johnson Financial Group’s project in Hayward, Wisconsin began with a strategic determination to enhance how their branch serves customers and represents their brand in the community. Their existing facility had supported the market for many years, but evolving customer expectations and increased demand invited an opportunity to find a new site offering stronger visibility, improved access, and space for a modern, right‑sized building. When a Kwik Trip announced plans to sell its prime corner lot at the busiest intersection in town and relocate nearby, JFG recognized the value of securing the location to support their continued growth in the region.
The new site’s visibility made it an ideal choice, but its narrow, irregular shape and DOT‑limited access points required thoughtful planning. The Redmond Company partnered with JFG early, developing and reviewing multiple layout options to understand how vehicles would move through the site, how customers would arrive and park, and how the building could be positioned to maximize visibility while keeping circulation simple. This collaborative, iterative process gave JFG a clear understanding of the options and led to confident decisions to advance the project.
Redmond’s experience designing several other JFG branches provided a strong foundation for the Hayward project. Familiarity with JFG’s design standards and operational needs allowed the team to quickly tailor the program to a 5,100‑sf, single‑story building while maintaining consistency with the established branch image. Redmond’s integrated design/build approach brought architectural and construction expertise together from the start, streamlining decisions and keeping communication direct throughout the process.
The new branch’s design focuses on both function and experience. The floor plan includes ten offices to support the many financial services JFG provides. A bright, inviting lobby with increased natural light will serve daily customers and also function as a community training space for financial literacy sessions. On the site, Redmond shaped the drive‑thru and parking layout around the narrow lot and restricted access points to create clear, intuitive movement that supports efficient operations, establishing a strong foundation for a modern branch that will prominently serve the community well for years to come.
