The wait is over for Van Horn Automotive Group in Glendale, Wisconsin. Construction has begun on a new state-of-the-art dealership on an expansive seven-acre site.
The project has a unique history. Initially planned by David Hobbs Honda in 2019, the dealership development was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023 Van Horn Automotive Group acquired the dealership and committed to advancing the project.
The new facility represents a comprehensive auto dealership experience. Spanning 45,200-sf on the main floor with an additional 8,000-sf second floor, the dealership boasts 450 parking spaces and a robust service infrastructure. Thirty-two service bays, three indoor service reception lanes, and a four-stall new car delivery area with integrated EV charging stations provide extensive capabilities. The facility also includes a customer lounge with diverse seating, a full-service car wash, and a quick-check alignment station.
To ensure structural integrity, The Redmond Company strategically will install over 400 Geopiers, establishing a secure foundation for the new structure.
This facility serves as one of the first in the United States to implement Honda’s updated image program. The Redmond team is collaborating closely with Honda to develop design solutions that meet both the manufacturer’s requirements and Van Horn Automotive Group’s specific needs.
As is common practice for The Redmond Company, we are providing alternate design and material solutions throughout the project to meet Honda’s standards and aesthetic while saving the client money. As an example, one of the immediate modifications was adapting Honda’s Blue Stage Canopy system with open fins to work in a Northern climate like Wisconsin to prevent ice / snow buildup from falling and causing injury or damage.
