Johnson Financial Group’s reinvestment in its Kenosha Midtown neighborhood is bringing a new 5,100 sf branch to replace its facility dating to the 1960s. The Redmond Company designed a modern, single‑story building that will deliver a sharper customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and create a forward‑looking environment reflecting the bank’s commitment to the community.
As banking practices evolved and functions consolidated, the previous branch no longer aligned with Johnson Financial Group’s long‑term service model. A new, right‑sized facility offered the most strategic path forward for growth and enhanced member experience. The new branch will establish a stronger, more visible presence at the intersection of 60th Street and 39th Avenue. Inside, a brighter, more open layout is planned to enhance comfort and usability for customers and staff. Redmond designed the expanded lobby as a flexible, multi‑purpose space for daily banking activity, financial education seminars, and broader community engagement.
Early planning revealed that constructing the new branch on the existing site, while keeping the current facility operational, would limit the project’s effectiveness. Therefore, Redmond collaborated with Johnson Financial Group on a creative solution: a land swap with the neighboring church. The exchange provided the additional site area needed for the new branch, while giving the church land to support future parking expansion once the existing building is demolished. This coordinated approach allowed both organizations to meet long‑term needs and enabled efficient development of the new branch.
When complete, the modern, right‑sized facility will align with Johnson Financial Group’s operational goals, customer experience priorities, and long‑term commitment to the Kenosha community.
