In today’s competitive financial landscape, credit unions like Earthmover Credit Union in Aurora, Illinois need to stand out. Their recent rebrand focused on modernizing branches, enhancing member experiences, and solidifying their image as a trusted financial institution.
To achieve this vision, Earthmover partnered with The Redmond Company, to renovate their Aurora and Yorkville, Illinois branches. Managing both branch renovations and future Earthmover projects in various phases requires maintaining frequent communications internally among the Redmond design and construction teams and externally with Earthmover leadership. As a design/build firm, The Redmond Company streamlined the overall approach and improved the quality of work and timeliness of information, a noted advantage clients experience over contracting with separate design and construction establishments for renovation or new construction projects. Additionally, regular 3D renderings and other graphic representations of the intended design facilitated Earthmover leadership in their understanding and decision-making, saving them time and money.
Understanding the importance of continuous service to members throughout the renovation process, the Redmond team developed a multi-phased construction plan. The team provided three different phased-approach plans, with cost breakdowns, to empower Earthmover in determining the best renovation strategy.
The Aurora branch’s small footprint needed a more functional, updated layout, with fresh fixtures, energy and cost-saving elements, and member-friendly considerations to elevate the experience. The Redmond team leveraged their programming services and adjacency analysis to create a functional and member-focused layout. Existing alcoves will be repurposed for coin counters, incorporating acoustic panels to minimize noise. Upgraded security measures and energy-saving LED lighting throughout the interior and exterior will further enhance the member experience. Finally, a recognizable slanted roof design on the entrance will align the branch with Earthmover’s new brand identity.
