The Redmond Company was hired to construct a 34,000-square foot training facility for ABB Industrial Systems, Inc. in New Berlin, Wisconsin. ABB utilizes the facility to train its personnel from across the United States in the latest advances in power and automation technology.
The Redmond Company assisted ABB and its developer in working through significant underground environmental contamination issues. Although these issues threatened to delay the project’s completion date, Redmond’s coordination of the services of the environmental team kept the project moving forward during the critical pre-construction due diligence phase.
Redmond worked with ABB’s real estate facilities personnel to attain a clear understanding of the facility’s operational requirements. ABB had to adhere to very strict budgetary constraints. Redmond prepared detailed conceptual estimates during the pre-construction phase to ensure that the project came in at an acceptable cost for the customer.
