PROJECT AWARD: Mayor’s Design Award by the City of Milwaukee & Top Project by The Daily Reporter

This 28,000 sf, two-story building located in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley is the home of The Sigma Group, an environmental and civil engineering firm. Designed and built by The Redmond Company, this project was awarded the Mayor’s Design Award for its unique design and was named a Top Project by The Daily Reporter and Wisconsin Builder for the project’s construction management.

The Sigma Group requested Redmond’s architects incorporate “green building” concepts into the design of the facility. The concepts were to utilize as many renewable resources as possible and increase the building’s efficiency. For example, the building is laid out on the site to use daylight as efficiently as possible, and the south-facing windows are coated with a glazing system to reflect daylight to prevent the interior from overheating.
