The Redmond Company’s automotive experts were selected to design and build an addition and complete a remodel of the Elmhurst BMW dealership in Elmhurst, Illinois.
The 50,000-square foot project entails the demolition of the existing showroom and re-creating it to meet BMW’s current corporate standards. Additionally, the Redmond team renovated the existing service drive and an existing empty garage. The new service area features 25 service bays and 4 detailing bays.
The impressive showroom has an open 2-story design and a 30-foot tall glass wall at the front of the showroom. Administrative and executive offices are housed on the second floor with an open balcony overlooking the showroom. The building’s exterior is substantial glass and white EIFS. The new BMW corporate standards feature a unique “street” concept for the vehicle displays. The vehicles are arranged in a line down the showroom, as if they were driving on the road. Additional design details are the clean white and glass look; the large, thin roof overhangs at the showroom; a fully tiled and air conditioned service garage; white slice wall which features the exceptional M-series and I-series vehicles.
The municipality in which the dealer is located had a very complex Tax Increment Financing process that required Redmond to help navigate. Our team prepared numerous detailed project budgets and schedules that were utilized as tools to help negotiate with the Village of Elmhurst. Redmond takes great pride in its ability to add value with its preconstruction services.
