The Redmond Company was selected as the design/build partner for the new Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Hinsdale, Illinois. The owner, J&L Hinsdale LLC, was looking to expand their Land Rover location to include the Jaguar brand.  In order to accommodate the expanding business, and update the facility to reflect the manufacturer’s standards, they purchased the property next to their current location.

During the planning it was brought to Redmond’s attention that the dealerships neighbors were concerned about the potential of added noise due to the expansion. As with any Redmond project, it is important for us to work with local communities and neighbors, and to be attentive to all stakeholders’ concerns. To help address the neighbors’ worries, the Redmond team, in partnership with the owner, conducted regular neighborhood meetings. The meetings allowed neighbors to voice their apprehensions and help in the process of finding a collaborative solution. It was ultimately agreed upon to design an attractive eight-foot-high stone wall and include additional landscaping to help reduce potential noise.

To make up for lost time, Redmond split-up the bid package into two and timed the submission of the drawings for permit approval with the announcement of the local approvals. Once the Village of Hinsdale approved the project, construction of the dealership began within days.

The dealership’s exterior is comprised of aluminum composite panels and structural frameless glass. The structural frameless glazing also offers a high-end finish, greater access to natural light, and a view into the new modern showroom. The interior incorporates high-end finishes throughout, including walnut wall panels and brushed aluminum accents. The new 38,000 sf Jaguar Land Rover dealership opened for business in 2020.
