This five-building retail campus was developed on a 20-acre site. The architectural detail on the project was significant since the developer was able to negotiate increased density with the municipality. The Redmond Company offered material substitution ideas to the original design which proved to be an aesthetic upgrade, an environmentally-considerate solution, and resulted in a cost savings for the client.
The development began with the construction of three buildings, including the Best Buy facility which we were required to complete in 150 days to adhere to the store’s pre-set grand opening date. The final two buildings began the following spring. During the conceptual design, we proffered a unique solution to a significant grade change challenge. We suggested that a multi-story, retail development be built with Sports Authority occupying the floor above Marshalls. This allowed entryways and loading facilities to be placed at grade on opposite sides of the building.
