Part of a five-building retail campus on a 20-acre site, the Best Buy at Nagawaukee in Delafield, Wisconsin was completed to blend in with the surrounding architecture. The Redmond Company offered material substitution ideas for the building exteriors from the original design which proved to be an aesthetic upgrade, an environmentally-considerate solution, and resulted in a cost savings for the client.

The development began with the construction of three buildings, including the Best Buy facility which Redmond was required to complete in 150 days to adhere to the store’s pre-set grand opening date. The final two buildings started construction in the following spring. During the conceptual design phase, Redmond proffered a unique solution to a significant grade change challenge by suggesting that a multi-story, retail development be built with Sports Authority occupying the floor above Marshalls. This allowed entryways and loading facilities to be placed at grade on opposite sides of the building.
