This site had many challenges. Original plans called for a helical pier system. Our project team provided value-engineering expertise to revise the plans and use the basement of the building next door to gain much needed space in the drive-through lane. The site drops in elevation from north to south approximately ten feet, which required a pre-cast panel retaining wall with h-piles. Contaminated and poor soils slowed the excavation for the footing and foundations. Despite these changes and complications, The Redmond Company finished the store on schedule.
