Construction on this location began in mid-fall, with the necessity to complete site construction before the first snowfall. A major challenge in the development of this project was remaining on schedule while processing contaminated soils. With proper scheduling and great teamwork, the building went up in record time.

The City of Chicago requirements call for a white reflective EDRM roof. Also required, was a portion of the roof to be ‘green.’ The Redmond Company installed the first ‘green’ Walgreens roof in the city. The roof is an interlocking grid system of plastic planters with a low maintenance soil mixture with three different types of low maintenance plantings.
