An architecturally sophisticated new branch honors 100-year commitment to customer growth, while delivering modern, technology-enabled financial solutions in an inviting environment.

The State Bank of Newburg has established a prominent presence with its new branch in Barton, Wisconsin. Strategically located on a corner lot near West Bend, the 9,400-sf facility showcases the bank’s dedication to the northwestern Washington County community.

As the bank’s design/build partner, The Redmond Company delivered an architecturally sophisticated and beautifully designed facility for the staff, customers, and community. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a stunning two-story lobby with curved windows, drawing natural light in from multiple directions. The generous windows highlight the view of the Milwaukee River and create a bright and airy atmosphere. Underfoot, visitors experience warmth from hydronic in-floor heating. A focal point emerges in the artistic wall behind the teller tables, featuring an aerial view of the Milwaukee River’s winding path through the town.

Honoring the bank’s 110-year history, the Redmond design team incorporated a glass display case in the entry vestibule showcasing historical artifacts, including a pistol from one of the bank’s two historical robberies.

The second floor extends the bank’s community focus, offering a versatile gathering space. An overlooking patio, community room, and rental-ready kitchen demonstrate the bank’s commitment to local engagement.

The expansive lot provides ample parking for visitors and easy access from the street.  While advantageous for the community, the lot initially presented some construction challenges, which the Redmond team addressed creatively. Working closely with a local survey and engineering team, The Redmond Company designed a large, vegetative tiered retaining wall to address the site’s topography. This solution manages runoff, prevents erosion, and enhances the site’s aesthetic appeal, while also prominently displaying the bank’s monument sign.
