Morton Community Bank and its parent company Hometown Community Bancorp, was looking for a way to convey their commitment to the community. With East Peoria creating a new downtown area, it provided the perfect opportunity for Morton Community Bank to build a considerably-sized facility in a prominent location. While Morton Community Bank will continue to be headquartered in Morton, this East Peoria facility is the Bank’s center for commercial banking services.

Redmond developed an old-world design based on the European heritage of Morton Community Bank. The architecture, with its stone and brick façade, gives the building a sturdy and timeless presence, in turn, communicating and fortifying the long-standing connection Morton Community Bank has had with the community and their customers. A grand and stately 100-foot clock tower stands watch over the inviting courtyard plaza; both of which address the rotunda at the intersection of West Washington Street and Clock Tower Drive. The iconic clock tower echoes the themes of other Hometown Community Banks.

The combination of the plaza and its centralized location create the ideal spot for staging community events such as art shows and lectures. The main entry, on the parking side of the building, is emphasized by a smaller tower element which is connected, via a porte-cochere, to a row of covered parking spaces. This provides comfortable access for customers during inclement weather. Other unique features such as, exterior balconies; segregated drive-up work seamlessly together to create a visual impact that strengthens Morton Community Bank’s brand.

This project is designed to earn the ENERGY STAR.
