Bank of Brodhead developed their new Milton branch as a flagship location that reflects their community‑focused identity and supports long‑term growth. The Redmond Company led the project from pre‑design through construction, beginning with securing a strategically located site along Highway 59 and annexing it into the City of Milton—an uncommon but necessary step to align the property with the bank’s operational and expansion goals.

Early planning shaped every aspect of the 9,900 sf ground‑up facility. Redmond evaluated building placement, circulation patterns, and interior finishes to ensure the branch would function as a welcoming customer destination and a durable community asset. The pre‑design process was exceptionally thorough, exploring visibility from both Highway 59 and nearby Highway 26, studying circulation for vehicles and pedestrians, and establishing a material palette that would express the bank’s values. The building was positioned to maximize visibility, avoid existing utilities, and preserve green space for future expansion.

A two‑story lobby anchors the building. Exposed glulam wood beams introduce natural warmth, and full‑height glass brings daylight deep into the interior. Acoustic wood accents, quartz countertops with branded blue veining, and custom wallcoverings define the lobby, kids’ area, and lounge, while murals and digital media screens support brand storytelling throughout the space. A state‑of‑the‑art conference room overlooking the lobby incorporates textural PET panels for acoustics and digital window film for privacy, and wood slats create a textural wall that discreetly conceals a murphy door connection between the President and CEO’s office and the conference room.

The interior layout supports both relationship banking and digital convenience. Three lobby teller stations and twelve offices provide clear pathways for personal discussions, and Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) in the lobby and drive‑through expand self‑service options. A large community room with its own entrance and accessible restrooms offers flexible space for gatherings and after‑hours events. Custom wallcoverings featuring historic images of the City of Milton celebrates the bank’s connection to the community and its heritage.

Employee spaces were designed with equal care. Light‑filled Class-A workspaces, wellness‑oriented amenities, and a second‑floor roof deck retreat provide staff with comfortable environments that support morale and productivity. Sustainability features, including radiant in‑floor heating, high‑efficiency lighting with daylight and occupancy sensors, and an electric vehicle charging station, support long‑term operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Each design decision, from site selection to material choice, contributes to a branch that is functional, visually distinctive, and closely connected to the community it serves. The completed Milton branch reflects Bank of Brodhead‘s commitment to thoughtful growth and demonstrates Redmond’s disciplined approach to planning, design, and construction.
