A new design and construction project that supports future growth goals and embraces an opportunity to enhance the services and capabilities that Financial Plus Credit Union provides to its members.

Financial Plus Credit Union, headquartered in Ottawa, Illinois, was looking to build a new main office that would better serve the employees who support their members. However, this type of project required unique expertise. FPCU needed a partner who could design and build a facility that was efficient, safe, cost effective and inspired. They also needed a partner who understood the rapidly evolving financial services industry and could provide informed solutions to current challenges. After partnering with the Redmond Company on a past project, they knew they could trust the team at Redmond to exceed their expectations for their main office project.

The barrel vault design for this project, which has become part of FPCU’s branding, was inspired by their branch in Morris, Illinois. That branch was also designed and built by the Redmond Company. One of the most important design features in both facilities was access to natural light. Optimizing the amount of natural light in an office significantly improves health and wellness among employees and leads to gains in productivity. Like the branch, the main office has an impressive two-story light-filled lobby. This design was also carried through to the office spaces giving most employees a view to the outside. Operational and efficiency issues were solved by incorporating an eight-lane drive-up that alleviates drive-thru congestion.
